SNOW DAY

We packed all our snow gear for our trip to Virginia and didn't get to use it. We flew back to Texas and on Sunday it was 70 degrees. We played outside, laid in the grass looking up at the sky and then on Monday we had a blizzard.

So we made snow angels:

and we tasted the yummy snow...

we watched the snowflakes fall...

and were oh so warm all bundled up in our snow gear

This was Titus' first time to see snow and Tabor's 2nd.

However, it was the first time Tabor NOTICED snow and wanted to play. Please note: Gloves were on the child BEFORE he stepped outside. Mr. Blizzard preferred to go gloveless.

Papa had a snow day and worked from home, but took a break to make a life-size Frosty! Tabor stayed out and helped him the entire time. He loved his first Frosty.

I said and MEANT life-sized Frosty!

Such a happy little guy. If only he knew how fast frosty's disappear in Lubbock, Texas.

The 3 snowmen. So proud of their finished snowman!

Boo wanted to be as tall as Frosty. So she stood on a bucket. (Thank you Frosty for not knocking her over!) Boo you are crazy!

Successful first snowday! We had such a blast playing, eating and building with the snow. Frosty actually lasted an entire week. Tabor checked on him everyday until he brought me his hat, eyes, nose and mouth and said "bye bye Frosty".

2K & 5K Family Run

We ran in a family 5k today. You could choose to run/walk 1K or 5K so while Ty & his dad ran the 5K (woo hoo go men!) Tabor, Baby and I walked/ran the 1K. We had so much energy though that we made it 2K and did an extra lap.

The weather was beautiful and it was a lot of fun. The cause was Human Trafficking through Trinity Church which Ty and I learned a lot about while we lived in London, but never realized how bad it was even in Texas. Crazy how you just don't hear about these things! So we helped a good cause and  had a great Saturday morning.

The men did really well on their 5K and I pulled (or pushed) all the weight on my team, but it was Tabor & Baby Uh Oh's first race so I guess I couldn't expect much from them.

Tabor had fun watching everyone start the 5K. There were other strollers and even dogs there so he was in heaven just watching and waving to everyone.

Here we are after the race. Mom is tired while Tabor couldn't get enough of crawling around on the grass, stairs and later playground. The race was in the Vintage Township neighborhood where Ty and I now want to buy a house ;-) We really loved it there!

Kapi & Tabor after their runs! Tabor kept us all running after him long after the race was over.

The men. Tabor is in training for his first triathlon with Kapi & Trey - ha!

Tabor had fun playing Tic Tac Toe at the playground afterwards. We ended the morning with smoothies, showers and naps. (Tabor napped after drinking most of my smoothie)

That was fun! I'll have to find another family run to sign up for!

Happy Mother's Day

 Happy Mother's Day!

We had a great day celebrating Mother's Day today. Trey came in from Dallas so we started the day off with brunch at Stella's. We spent some good ole quality time together and I did some shopping with my mom and then we had dinner with her at Hayashi. Yes our celebrations tend to center around food :-) isn't that the best way to celebrate!?

My hubby treated me to a coupon that entitles me to THREE days off! I have no idea what I'll do or where I'll go, but I'm excited to relax! My "kids" Tabor & Uh Oh gave me a gift card for a prenatal massage at Woodhouse Day Spa. I can't wait to go! I even got a gift card to my favorite store Belly couture from Kyle with a sweet card. I definitely felt VERY appreciated for Mother's Day. Thanks boys for spoiling me and making me feel so loved.

Tabor gave his Nona (Flo) a framed picture of himself (see above) that says "I love U" and the boys gave her a new bike to ride to school on. We're excited for this rain to stop so she can take it out once it arrives!

Nona thanks for being such an amazing grandmother, mother and mother-in-law. We are all so blessed by you daily!

My mama and I will be going to Woodhouse Day Spa for some much needed girl time and pedicures next week. We can't wait. Tabor also gave his Abuita a frame (I should post pics of how they turned out since they're different) He also stamped his little hand in their cards (thanks Trey for your help with these things and I hope you weren't too covered in ink after it all!)

Mama thanks for being such a great mother to me & Steph, a great mother-in-law to Ty, and an amazing grandma to Tabor. We love you so much and can't imagine what we'd do without you.

We are interesting too...

Ty said our blog has turned into a Tabor's life blog. So in an attempt to write about something other than Tabor today... I will update you on what we're doing.

Ty is studying. He takes the CFA Level II exam on June 2nd in Dallas. So prayers are MUCH appreciated.

He studies from 4-6am, listens to CFA cds in the car on his way to work, studies as he eats lunch, studies again in his car on his way home from work, and studies again from 6-10pm. Life as he knows it is boring and stinks.

Me... I am sporting some cool new accessories these days. A baby on one hip, a growing belly and a dorky wrist brace. Yes I'm so cool. I hurt my wrist back in October doing P90X and now months later I'm paying for not wanting to see a doctor. I have apparently chipped some cartilage. Again...so cool.

On a much cooler note my belly is growing. I am nearly 15 weeks pregnant and this is what I look like. I am definitely bigger than I was the first time around. I have already felt Baby Uh Oh move. It happened during our first sonogram at the doctor's office and I wouldn't have known baby had moved if I didn't also see it on the screen. So fun. I don't feel "uh oh" much yet though so we'll see if he/she is as active as her/his older brother!

As of last week I had only gained 1 pound, but after our trip to Denver, Colorado where my appetite finally returned it may be safe to say I gained 20lbs! ha!

Here's Baby Uh Oh's first picture. He/She actually waved at us. :-) We can't wait to meet you!

Don't get excited about that little M on the sonogram. It has nothing to do with the sex of the baby. We were lucky to see the hand in this rough image. Gender will be revealed at the end of June!!

Pancake Breakfast

We used to go to the Pancake festival every year when we lived here before so we were thrilled to get to go this year. It was actually my first year to attend and eat since I've always been a volunteer and I loved it!

Unfortunately Tabor was actually sick. He had a stomach bug, but we didn't know it until after we left. Actually until we all got it the next day.

Here's our not so joyful baby boy.

Ty and his momma posing with their breakfast! It was delicious!

Tabor didn't know what to think about the lion. I think he just wanted to go home and sleep! I can't wait to go back next year and do it again. I know Tabor will love it! Ty, Flo and I sure did!!

All stitched up

It was a nice Saturday afternoon. We were planning to go shopping and for a fun walk together. First we had to eat a quick lunch though so while I fed Tabor - Ty made my lunch and then started making himself a sandwhich. The ciabatta bread he wanted to use was a little hard though so when he went to cut it in half the knife slipped and he sliced his thumb.

As nonchalantly as if he had given himself a papercut he says, "I'm going to go get some stitches and I'll be back." as he grabs his hat and book and walks out the door.

Meanwhile I'm running around trying to get him a towel and clean the blood and feed Tabor and make sure he's got a snack and yea by this point he's already at Urgent Care reading his book.

Needless to say we didn't make it to our family outing but Ty survived and came back with 6 stitches in his thumb. He put his new iPhone to good use also by snapping a few pics of his thumb and even a video.

Enjoy.

Here's the picture Ty emailed everyone. 6 stitches.

The smurf thumb ready for Halloween. :-)

A week and a half later... looking good!

Where's Waldo?

Tabor was left alone with his daddy for about 2 seconds and this is what happened...

Can you find the baby?!

Peek a boo! (He's standing up in these pics - it was really cute)

Here I am mom! Dad hid me but I escaped!!

Note to self: ANYTHING can happen when Mom isn't around the boys.

The Sky is falling...The Sky is falling

The following pictures look like I've turned them into Sepia prints or like I changed the photo color, but look carefully and you'll see that the grass is still green and Ty is still a normal color.

On October 17, 2011 we had what was called a red billowing cloud of red dust aka a Dust Storm. One second the day was beautiful and the next second...

It was red and dusty. My camera had a layer of dust on it just from being outside for a few minutes! It was awful! I came across this article saying that we may see more of these due to the drought Texas has been experiencing.

Bedtime Prayers

Ty was reading Tabor a bedtime prayer tonight and I thought it was so sweet that I ran and grabbed the video camera. Kenley this book is from you and we read it every night. THANK YOU!

Its Raining Its Pouring.....Ty Went Mad

By Ty:

So for those of you who didn't know, this has been like the hottest and driest year on record in West Texas.  Its hit 100+ over 35 times.  Dirt devils dominate the sky line on my drive home.  All the lakes have dried up and it even got to the point that construction started on a water reclamation plant that will recycle sewer water....Don't believe me?  Click this link http://www.newswest9.com/story/15245509/texas-plant-will-turn-sewage-into-drinking-water

Anyway, today something incredible happened.  I drove home today with huge thunderheads looming over me and dominating the sky.  They stayed this way for several hours, and just when I was about to write it off as another tease, it rained........first some sprinkles with some nice soft thunder in the distance (which Danielle and I enjoyed from the hammock).....then downpour! Torrential downpour with constant booms and flashes of thunder and lightening.  It was incredible and soooooooo needed.

As the night stormed on the excitement of the whole thing built up inside me.  It got to be so much to the point that the following happened.  Let's just say that too much heat followed by a whole lot of rain can do strange things to people......well no maybe just me.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

P90X with Tabor

Yes we are currently on round 2 of P90X and yes we are teaching Tabor how to workout with us.

First he watched...then he tried it too.

Don't worry we gave him the easy bands...

He wanted harder ones! These weren't challenging enough for him!

The bands are not always the best way to work out. Sometimes you need a little something extra...

like Tabor curls :-)

As always - no baby was harmed in the making of this blog.
