Parents of the year goes to...

Well not us that's for sure!

We did great on the flight & with all our luggage. Until we got to Treys house and went to set up the pack n play and realized we had left it in baggage claim. So Ty & Trey rushed back to the airport (Ty even called and they said they were open until 11:30), but when they got there at 11 the office was already closed!!

So here's Tabor's crib for the night. It's Treys laundry basket! It is small but it's either that or the floor. Wow! We definitely won't be winning the Parents of the Year award!

Good luck Tabor.

24

Our life currently feels like the hit TV series 24 right now. It has been exactly 24hrs since the craziness began.

Tabor is currently on his first flight but unfortunately it is to go home to attend his great grandfathers funeral. Pop passed away yesterday after 88 amazing years of life. He celebrated his 88th birthday on Thursday and yesterday went to meet his Father. We know he's gone home and for that we are grateful, but it is still hard to deal with. Fortunately we are able to head home to attend the funeral. Ty is sad but so thankful that we're able to be there with his family and be there for his mom right now. We are BEYOND blessed to have the chance to be there. We have so many people in our lives that have helped make this possible. Thank you to our LA friends for getting us out the door, to Kyle for helping us with the flights at the last minute (your IOU gets bigger by the day!), to Trey for driving us from Dallas to Dimmitt when we land and everyone else that has played a part in the last 24hrs of our life.

The last 24 hours have been a whirlwind. We found out that Pop passed away around 4pm. We had movers scheduled to move our stuff to Texas (yes we are officially moving home!) on Tuesday so we had planned to spend the weekend packing. Instead we had less than 24hrs to pack up everything and catch a flight home. God has blessed us with amazing friends. We couldn't have survived the last few hours without Richard, Sarah, Gabriel, Tim, Marlene, Jet and Erin. You guys are the best and most amazing friends in the world! Thank you for packing up our house until crazy hours into the night and for coming over again super early his morning to finish. Thank you for taking jato the airport and for housing the homeless Touchstones until we leave LA in a couple of weeks. We have no idea where we'd be without you all! Thank you even for planning a surprise party for us and rescheduling it yet again. We are sorry for all the headaches we are causing but you have all truly blessed us more than you can ever imagine!

Since this is our first flight with Tabor we were a bit stressed about the logistics but fortunately at 3am we were able to switch our flights around (we were on separate flights at first) and we made it through security, gate checks and takeoff without any problems. Tabor slept through the entire process (thank you God!!) As you can see Dad & Tabor are both passed out. I can't sleep because I keep watching Ty jerk in his sleep and I'm terrified that Tabor will soon go flying and plop on the floor. Ha. I'm sure it's an unnecessary worry and I should just try to nap while I can. I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing flight.

Here's a pic of my boys snoozing away!

1 month old

Tabor you're a 1 month old!

(Thanks Aunt Mon for the month stickers!! We LOVE them! Want some? Click here to order them!)

As of today you:
-Are wearing size 1 diapers (for the first time)
-Are sleeping 4.5hrs some nights (thank you!)
-Are starting to outgrow your newborn clothes and wearing some 0-3 month outfits
-Smile more and more everyday
-Shake your fist at me after you finish eating (I think it falls asleep when you eat because you rest your head on your fist)
-Stretch for about 5min before you can wake up
-Are starting to like your carseat a bit more
-Fall asleep instantly in the car
-Get really mad when you get the hiccups but each time you hiccup they scare you and you stop whining
-Make a funny face when I blow in your face
-Have been sleeping in your own crib. You slept in the hospital with us the first week and in a Pack n Play Bassinet for the 2nd & 3rd week, but now you're in your own crib and you LOVE staring at your sailboat mobile.
-Are already out of your swaddle. You fought your way out until we let you win. Now you sleep in a Sleep Sack and with your arms high above your head! ha!

So many things are already changing! I can't believe you're already a month old. We love you dear Tabor. You have changed our lives for the better and we can't imagine our lives without you. Thank you God for blessing us with such a wonderful baby boy! We love you so much Tabor.

My FIRST Easter

Easter 2011 started off with a sunrise service at Hope Chapel. Where Ty sang in the choir and Tabor, Marlene and Danielle sat in the car listening to the service. We had front row seats, ham & cheese crossaints and Pastor Bruce even brought the communion elements to us in the car! We were VIP!! It was nice to stay warm and dry (only day of the year it misted/rained had to be Easter morning!) and still get to hear Ty sing and the Easter sermon from inside our car! Thanks Ty for saving us a great parking spot at 4am!

Tabor's first Easter and he found 3 Easter eggs! Ok maybe his mom & dad helped him out some. Ok so maybe his mom & dad were the ones out hunting for the eggs while Tabor snoozed. STILL he got 3 Easter eggs! Way to go Tabor! (Thanks Anabelle for having us over for the Easter egg hunt!)

Here's the new happy family on Easter Sunday! Tabor woke up for pictures. :-)

We had brunch at Martha's with Jet & Erin and after a walk along the beach we met up with Tim & Marlene at Anabelle's house for an Easter egg hunt! We had a great Easter!

Tabor was even spoiled with his very own Easter basket! Thanks to Tio Tim & Tia Leney! Thanks guys! Mom & Dad LOOOVED eating his goodies! Tabor loves his little bunny too! Love how he's staring at his basket!

The stare down. We had lots of fun playing with Tabor during his wake time!

Then Uncle Jet and Aunt E came over and T-bo fell asleep on his uncle. Yes very Baby-unwise, but we didn't mind him getting spoiled on Easter.

We had a great day of praising God!

Get in my belly

When Tabor eats. He eats.

The funniest part though is how large his belly is right after.

We heart Carters

Grandma Flo and I had way too much fun at the Carters store.

Tabor slept through it all of course, but we still included him in on our fun. He didn't even bat an eyelash. ha!

Tabor we love your outfit! Especially after you've just eaten and your belly is huge like in this picture :)

Love my onesie

Thanks Aunt Karen for my awesome onesie!!!

Blessed meals

So for about 2 weeks after we returned home from the hospital we were incredibly blessed by our family & friends. They had all signed up for a different night to bring us meals so we would not have to worry about cooking.
One particular meal was provided by Sarah, Richard and Gabriel. It was something that Sarah and I had been avoiding for the last 9 months!! Something we love and knew was completely off limits. Sushi!!
It was such a joy to get to eat this again and so much fun to get to celebrate and eat it together!! Of course I took pics of our sushi feast!!
You have noo clue how hard it was to crave this for 9 months and not get to eat it!!
Thank you Sanders family for fulfilling this craving!! It was a blast to get to spend the evening together and I can still taste this amazing meal!!!
Thanks also to everyone else who brought us dinners. They were all delicious!! It was such a blessing to not have to worry about cooking on top of everything else!! What a huge gift! We Love you all so much!!!

I scream You Scream

We all scream for gelato!!
Getting to leave the house & go for walks on the beach (with a gelato pit stop) is the best!!

Tabor's Birth Announcement

Thanks to Monica for making Tabor's birth announcement! We love the way they turned out!!

We did a pic of Tabor on the back in case anyone wanted to frame it after they showed it off as an announcement!

Bro's

Tabor and Gabriel look so much alike in my opinion. They can definitely pass as brothers - except they're only 2 months apart :) What cuties!!

The best part of waking up...

Is Tabor!

(no babies were harmed in the making of this photo. No baby was in harms way or asleep in bed near sleeping Ty - please do not report us to CPS!)

From Aunt Gigi

Thanks Aunt Gigi for my onesie! The balloon adds an interesting touch ;) I love you!!!

Painted Onesies

We love all the onesies that people painted for Tabor! This kid loves peeing on things during his diaper changes so all the onesies have come in handy! I've tried getting pics of him in each one but sometimes he pees in them too fast!

This particular onesie was painted by his great grandma Mami! Tabor you're just too cute. Mami thanks for the super cute onesie!!
