Words at 13.5 months - 15 months

Sarah you've inspired me to try and capture all our "talking" moments. Mainly because they sound so funny now and I know someday they will be spoken clearly and I'll never be able to replicate his funny words. So I may not get them all down, but here's what I have been able to catch.

Huevo (egg)

Bye

Ball

Yogurt

Bubble

I began writing this so I wouldn't forget what these first words sounded like and because there were only a few that he said randomly. It's been a few weeks since I started this and his vocabulary has since doubled and he will repeat anything you ask him to (if he can say it).

So now instead of hoping to catch one word at a time...

Uh Oh, Yogurt, Banana, Bubble, Bebe (Baby as he points to mom's belly), Ow, Oh Boy and Bye:

Mama, Papa, Ball, Ya (all done), Gracias (in sign), Agua (water), Hi, and Bye:

Mama, Papa, Agua, Huevo, Cheerios (chee chee's), Nona (Flo), and Mas (more)

Ok now at 15 months here is the list we've got so far! He can say about 40 words and he's starting to string them together. Well only 2 syllable words and only 2 at a time and only randomly but it's a start. It is definitely exciting to watch how quickly this happens but it is crazy that our baby is no longer a baby!! We also realized today he will repeat nearly anything you ask him to say SO we are now watching what we say. Even if we don't say bad words around him...an innocent "Dangit" sure won't sound cute coming out of his mouth.

All done, Ball, Gracias, Mama, Papa, Agua, No, Up, Amen, Oh boy, Oh man, Ok, Daddy, Hi, Hola, Nona (Flo), Ya, Buh Bye, Yogurt, Leche, Bebe, Ow, Banana (nana), Kiki (Ricky), Bubble, Thank You, Jesus, Kapi (Kyle + Papi), Titus, Boo (Anita), Chee (Cheerios), Go, Caca (poop), Night Night, Turtle, Cracker, Please, Mas (more), Eat, Comida, Ice, Luna (moon) and Gigi (Ginger).

I think this may be the kid we are begging to play the quiet game with soon. :-)

Here is my favorite video. Tabor says Thank you Jesus, Amen.

Fiddler on the roof

We went to see fiddler on the roof at the Moonlight Musicals ampatheater with my family and some friends. It was a great night out and Nona was sweet to keep Tabor. Little did we know he had the best night of his life without us. Thanks Nona for showing him a night he will never forget and thanks to my parents for introducing us to such a fun night out!

This is the Fiddler on the Roof stage from our seats! We got there early and set up our chairs and picnic blanket complete with a delicious picnic! Ty and I are all about the food that goes with the show. We brought French bread, a variety of cheeses, Sicilian mini mozzarella balls, olives, prosciutto ham, cookies and water. Yes wine would have been the next best thing, but until Titus arrives that part of the meal is on hold.

THE Fiddler on the Roof. We had so much fun watching this play! It was especially fun because Ty and I had never seen it before!

Meanwhile, Tabor was off riding a goat...

...and playing with a horse.

Which he seems to have LOVED! This kid is crazy about animals!

This picture is the sweetest thing ever! I LOVE being close to family! These are Ty's cousins' kids. I love each one of these little guys so much and watching Tabor get to play with them just makes me incredibly happy! Flo sent this picture and I smiled for a long time!

Fart - Friday Art

First Friday art trail is a new tradition in Lubbock and Ty mentioned wanting to go check it out. Well since he had a night off from his studies we thought we'd check it out. (He called it FART because it was Friday ART)

We started at the Buddy Holly Museum which neither of us had been to before. Tabor learned a lot of interesting facts. :-)

We even took pictures with his famous glasses :-) Ok or maybe with the artwork out front.

There were lots of buildings full of different art exhibits. Our favorite was one with watercolor paintings of Europe and another one of a Windblown Lubbock bird.

There was also a photography exhibit of Texas Tech that we loved. Some art we just could not get into. Modern art that is either bloody, or a sketch that I am certain I could replicate just was not as appealing. Most art pieces were for sale and I am sure many art enthusiasts would think I am insane for saying that anyone crazy enough to buy a Campbells soup can sketch for $8,000 either has too much money for their own good or is mentally insane. (I don't care if it was sketched by Andy Warhol!)

These were some of the album covers in the Buddy Holly Museum. There are some funny song titles out there!

Thanks Ty for a fun family outing. Sorry I got tired of walking in the heat but thanks for filling our life with some culture (and for finding me some lemonade) :-) We love you for keeping our lives so interesting!

Father's Day

We were truly blessed this year to get to spend Father's Day with our dads! We've been so far away until now that this year was a special treat! We met at Harrigans after church and had a delicious brunch, Tabor with his "Papa", Ty with his "Dad" and me with my "Papa".

The Touchstone boys

Tabor with his Kapi

Thanks Kapi for being such a great father-in-law to me, father to Ty and grandpa to Tabor. We love every second we get to spend with you. Tabor can't get enough of you and it is so much fun watching him play with you. I love when you make him laugh and he asks for more. Thanks for being such a huge and important part of our lives.

My two silly boys. I love this picture so much. They are such goof balls! I don't know what I'd do without these guys!

A family shot. Even Titus is in the pic. (Crazy to think next year we'll have 2 little boys by this time!)

Tabor and his "Kiki"

Thanks Papa for being such a great dad to me, father-in-law to Ty and grandpa to Tabor. I love watching Tabor with you. It's definitely true that to make a mom feel loved all you have to do is love her kids and you do a great job of this. Thanks for always being there for me and for making Tabor smile on a daily basis.

Another family shot.

Babe, I just have to say that you are an amazing father and husband. I am extremely blessed to have you in my life. I love you more each and every day and to see the man that you have become and work each day to become amazes me. I love how much you love God and how you hard you work to instill that upon your own son. It melts my heart to hear Tabor say "Papa" and to watch him light up as you play with him, sing to him, read to him or pray with him. I know it is only the beginning and I can't wait for the years to come as our family continues to grow. I am so thankful to have you as my hubby and am amazed each day at what a wonderful husband and father you are!

Tabor & Ty

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there and especially to Our Father in heaven. We love you above all others and all others because of You.
