The Hat

When I found out we were having a boy the only thing I could think of was how girl clothes was so much cuter. Well... that was before I discovered hats!

Only problem is...dad doesn't show my same excitement.

I was shopping with my mom and found a super cute hat. I couldn't wait to put it on Tabor and take some pics.

First pic...the hat:

Here's a few more pics from his mini little photo sesh. (next time I need a helper to get him to smile!!)

He loves to eat his hands

I'm pretty sure he's being a smartalec in this picture. I said smile and he did this.

He was going for "pensive" (yes I'm quoting a movie)

Tabor and his best friend...his tongue

He's totally thinking..."Mom I love my new hat."

Having a conversation with a butterfly that few by.

"Mom can I roll over yet?!"

"I love my blankie" aka burp cloth

Yes I'm that annoying mom that has to add a caption to everything. As if buying him a newsie hat wasn't obnoxious enough. Sorry Tabor.

What did Ty have to say to all of this?

RETURN THE HAT!

So little...

As I write this Tabor you are nearly 4 months old. I was looking back at pictures (that of course are in no order and I'll soon forget when and where they were taken) but I actually still remember that you were about 6 weeks old here. Your little hands were still tight little fists and your hair was constantly styled by dad with a mohawk. I still couldn't wear my wedding ring (which is why it is around my neck) and I took this picture and sent it to your dad telling him we couldn't wait for him to come home from work. We were living in Los Angeles and currently we're now in Lubbock, Texas. So much has changed in the last 4 months. It's going by much too quickly. We love you sweet Tabor thanks for changing our lives for the better. :-)

Fun photos

Monica is taking some pretty amazing pictures with her new lens so she asked if Tabor wanted to be her model since John, Braidy and Quin had all had their turn. :)

We went over there early one morning, but mom couldn't get her act together so we didn't show up until it was already time for Tabor to take a nap. oops!

Monica still managed to get some cute pics. We'll be trying again soon. I can NEVER have too many pics of T-bo!

Thanks Mon for taking these great pics! Can't wait to do it again when he's a little more lively!

"What are all those flashing lights?"

"Ok I'll cooperate for a second - is this a big enough smile?!"

"QUIN! Get out here and save me!"

"I'm bored. It's my naptime."

Baby G

Jonathan & Erin came into town for their Lubbock baby shower this weekend and while they were here I got to take a few Belly pics for them so I thought I'd share!

They will become parents on August 30th and they'll be great parents!!

Erin you're wayyyy too cute to be pregnant! I'm a little jealous! :-)

Baby G...what will you be?! They haven't found out if it's a girl or a boy yet so we will have to wait and see!!

For those of you WillowTree figurine fans...you may recognize this pose ;-) So sweet!!

Thanks for letting me take pics of your belly Erin! You look amazing and we can't wait to meet that precious bundle of joy! We love you guys!

Cake Baking in Texas

Well Maternity Leave has come to an end. My friend Brandi was throwing a gender reveal party and needed a cake for this special day. Her and her hubby went to the doctor and brought me the sealed envelope! I was so excited to be the first to know!!

Here's what the invitations that Monica made looked like: (I love these!!) AND here's a LINK TO HER SITE if you need invitations for anything let her know! She's pretty amazing!

So I went to Michaels and bought EVERYTHING cake-wise that they sold. (ok not really but it felt like it) Until now I've always used Sarah's supplies AND I've always had Sarah and Marlene by my side during cake making! So I bought 3 cake pans and decided to use the biggest one since I had to feed 25 people.

Well once I went to put it in the oven I realized...it didn't fit!!! I had to turn the oven racks upside down and backwards to get it to fit! Here's a pic of the giant cakes!

That's a sketch of the cake on an 8x10 sheet of paper to give you an idea how big the cakes were!

Here's a pic of the carved cake with the PINK (yep it's a GIRL!) icing! They have a precious little boy and now they're expecting a little girl! YAY! That's so exciting!

After trying to stack the cakes and make it a double decker and after the top one cracking in half and falling OFF I went with a single layer cake instead. (It was still big) I don't know what I was thinking trying to make it so dang big! God had other plans and just when I thought "how the heck am I going to fix this" He made it quite clear that the solution was simple...ONE LAYER!! So after 2 stressful days of baking and decorating (Thank you sooo much to Monica for bringing me coffee, my family for babysitting, my mom for coming home during her lunch break, and my dad for helping me ALL day in any and every way possible- he now hates cake ha!) here's the final product. Sarah and Marlene...I really needed you guys, but in the end I hope I still made you proud!

A close up of the secret onesie cake!

Congrats Brandi and Keith! We are so excited for you guys! We can't wait to meet your precious new baby GIRL!

Standing

Our new favorite trick is standing. We started this a few weeks ago and now it's all we want to do.

Tabor arches his back like he's trying to get up himself and won't quit until you help him stand up.

Yesterday's new trick though was learning to get out of the Carseat. Tabor you're growing up too fast!!

Gabe is my Friend

We wanted to take pics of Gabe & Tabe together, but Gerber onesies don't really run true to size. Tabor is 3 months old and this is a size 6-9 months. Gabriel has pretty much completely outgrown his and it may be even bigger.

What can we say...we have growing boys :-)

Tabor misses you Gabriel!!

Topi Topi

Tabor has been taught how to play Topi Topi. A game that I grew up with as a little girl and a game my parents grew up playing too. I love that Tabor is going to learn Spanish and I love watching him learn things already.

We actually got him playing Topi Topi on video. The way you play... well just watch and see.

3 Months

Happy 3 months Baby Tabor. I honestly cannot believe you are already 3 MONTHS old!

What I really can't believe is how much you have changed just from last month even.

Currently you've found your hands and love to hold them together (I'm pretty sure Gabriel taught you this)

You chew on your tongue and hands. Everyone keeps saying you're hungry even though you've just eaten AND you're belly is HUGE ha! We think you may be teething soon because you drool all over the place (seriously drool appeared overnight) and your dad felt a tooth when he stuck his finger in your mouth. You don't suck your hands so much as chew on them. Your poor tongue -I hope this ends when your teeth come in.

You rolled over at 9 weeks on accident and now you roll over every day, but I'm not sure you've figured out how it happens yet. At least you use your elbows more now!

You sleep from 8:30-7:30. I still wake you up at 10pm for one last meal. I'm not ready to drop your dreamfeed yet. I don't want to wake up before 7:30 again. :-)

You started using the bumbo finally. YAY! You sit and suck on your hands the entire time. ha!

You prefer to stand more than sit or lay or have tummy time. I hope you don't skip crawling and go straight to running. I'd like to work my way into chasing after you. :-)

You only sleep for 45min during your last nap. You just love hanging out with us! (That must be it right?!) You sit quietly in your swing though until it's time to eat. I think you actually like this!

You love to stare at fans.

You're fighting getting into your carseat less and less.

You're starting to push your wake time somedays to 1.15min. maybe soon you'll push it 1.30!

Some of your hair is falling/rubbing out. It's a mini ring around your head, but the rest of your hair is long enough to cover it up.

We switched to size 3 diapers to try and prevent up the back blowouts (which happens 2-3 times a day) but poop came out through your leg area and filled up the bumbo you were sitting in. We are now back to size 2.

I can't wait to see what the next month has in store. We love you so much Tabor Nolan. You are such a joy to us.

No Fireworks just Dynamite

Happy 4th of July!! Our little American hunk celebrated his first 4th of July in Texas during a Burn Ban. So instead of watching fireworks we had our very own little firework with us all day. Our little dynamite kept us smiling all day long! Happy first 4th of July Tabor!

Our little family. We love our little firecracker!

Uncle Trey, Nona and TNT getting ready for some burgers!

We had a great time together. We took it easy all day and spent the evening together grilling out burgers.

Family Reunion

We spent our 4th of July weekend in Dimmitt, Texas for Mema (Ty's Grandma)'s 90th birthday and his family reunion. We had a great time and Tabor got to meet so many new people!

Tabor has so many cousins to play with (once he gets old enough of course). Here's a pic of cute little Denham!

Here's a pic of Mema with Ty & Tabor! She was a cute little princess all weekend!

Tabor attended the swim party in his cute surf shirt :-)

He even got in the water for the first time! It was salt water and all he got wet were his little legs.

I think he liked it! We have a little fishy in training!!

No party would be complete without a poopy diaper ha!

The new little Touchstone fam.

Uncle Trey (or Uncle Weinkenstein as he prefers) holding T-bo! Tabor loves his uncles!!

Mema's kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. You are very loved Mema!!

Tabor and his uncles!

Uncle Buckshot and Tabor (with Levi peeking in)

Levi and his hot prego wife! Seriously no one should look so amazing while pregnant!! We can't wait for little boy #3!

Silly-faced kids! Jack's face is too cute (far right) he's trying to make a silly face too!

Brecken (soon to be a big 4yr old girl) playing in the pool! What a sweet little girl!

We LOVE watching Tabor experience so many firsts. Here's a pic of his toes feeling grass for the first time. I love the expression on his face. :-) He also loves to stand now more than sit or do tummy time.

Grass is so much fun!

Mema and Tabor.

Flo (Nona), Mema and Tabor. What a pretty family!!

We had such an amazing time. It was so great to spend the day with our family!
